Be a Responsible Gun Owner.
• Always keep the barrel in a safe direction.
• Never point a gun at anyone or anything you would never shoot.
• Do not drop your gun. If it falls, it can fire even with the safety on. If you drop your gun, pick it up and inspect it to make sure it works properly. Do not try to fire it again until you have completed this safety check.
• Never put your hand on the barrel of the gun.
• Keep your finger off the trigger and keep it off the trigger until the end of the barrel is on your target, when you are ready to fire, put your finger on the trigger.
!!! TREAT EACH HANDGUN AS IF IT IS LOADED…. ALWAYS.

BE A RESPONSIBLE GUN OWNER!
• Never rely on the "safety" of a weapon to prevent unsafe gun handling. Safety is only a mechanical device, not a substitute for common sense.
• When the gun is loaded, do not touch the trigger until you are ready to fire.
• Be sure of your target and backstop before firing. Ask yourself what your bullet will hit if it misses or passes the target.
• Before shooting, make sure there is nothing in the barrel, including excessive oil and grease.
• If something gets into the barrel, clean the barrel before trying to shoot. A clogged barrel can explode and injure you or others around you.
• Never allow water, snow, mud or other materials to enter the barrel.
• Never pull the gun towards you at the end of the barrel.
• Do not climb a tree, climb over a fence or ditch, or jump with a loaded gun.
• Always hold your gun to control the direction of the barrel in case you fall or stumble.

• Get training from a qualified firearms instructor before using any weapon.
• Practice dry-firing in an empty room, without ammunition or with training rounds, before attempting to shoot. Learn about safety features, trigger control and firearm handling.
• Always store and carry your handgun with an empty chamber until you are ready to fire, so that it cannot be unintentionally fired.
• Firearms should be unloaded when not in use. This means that both the chamber and the magazine are empty.
• When giving a gun to someone else, always ask the person receiving it to open the cap and check that the chamber is unloaded.
• When receiving a firearm, never take anyone's word for it that the firearm's chamber is unloaded. Always open the slide and make sure that the chamber has been emptied.
